May 12, 2024 – The Charlotte Hornets received the sixth overall selection in the 2024 NBA Draft during the 2024 NBA Draft Lottery in Chicago on Sunday. Charlotte entered the lottery with a 27.07 percent chance to land the No. 6 selection, its highest odds of any individual pick this year. It marks the Hornets’ first time receiving the No. 6 pick in the draft.
The Hornets also own the 42nd overall selection in the draft. Charlotte acquired the pick, which originally belonged to the Houston Rockets, from the Oklahoma City Thunder on Feb. 8 along with Davis Bertans, Tre Mann, Vasa Micic and a 2025 second-round pick in exchange for Gordon Hayward.
The first round of the 2024 NBA Draft will be held on June 26 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y., and the second round will be held on June 27 at ESPN’s Seaport District Studios in New York.
